President Tinubu Chooses CEOs for NESREA and NBRDA

The Federal Republic of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has approved the hiring of two Chief Executive Officers for two agencies.

The recent appointments were disclosed, according to a statement issued on Friday, April 26, 2024, by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President.

Prince Ebitimi Amgbare has been appointed as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA), and Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

Barikor is a politician and scholar. Prince Amgbare is a retired navy officer who served as a commissioner in Bayelsa State before entering the House of Assembly in Rivers State in 2011. The President anticipates that the newly appointed leaders of these significant agencies will carry out their responsibilities with the highest loyalty to the country and unwavering compliance with the strictest

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Jim Ovia, CFR, a seasoned banker and entrepreneur, as the Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), as previously reported by The News Chronicles. The purpose of this action is to improve youth and student access to higher education and skill development in Nigeria.

As the creator of one of the leading banks in Nigeria, Mr. Ovia brings to his current position a wealth of knowledge and a track record of dedication to young empowerment. He has played a significant role in fostering the nation’s entrepreneurship and developing youthful talent.

Furthermore, Mrs. Zubaida Umar was recently appointed by President Tinubu to the position of Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). These nominations are a result of ongoing initiatives to improve leadership roles in a number of industries, which have been underway since the year’s beginning.
