Federal High Court Issues Warrant Against DSS to Produce Dasuki

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday has issued a warrant against the Department of State Service (DSS) to produce the immediate past National Security Adviser; Retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf issued the warrant following a request from the Prosecutor OluwalekeAtolagbe who asked that the court grants an order to enable the immediate past National Security Adviser to appear in court to answer to charges of criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and dishonest release of funds to the tune of ₦33.3 billion leveled against him by the Federal Government.

At the resumption of trial yesterday, the prosecutor told the court that he had a witness who was ready to testify and came all the way from Port Harcourt but the absence of the 1st defendant in court remains the challenge.

Counsel to Colonel Sambo Dasuki, Mr, Victor Okwudili was astonished by the claims that the prosecution was asking about the whereabouts of his client when he already knew where his client was. Mr. Okwudili further stated that his client was in the custody of the prosecution and it was the duty of the prosecution to produce his client in court for questioning.
