Yuletide: President Tinubu Urges Prayers for Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has extended his Christmas greetings to Nigerians, assuring them that the nation is on the path to restoration and progress.

In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Tinubu called on citizens to pray for the country and its leaders at all levels.

“On this joyous Christmas Day, I send warm greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, as told in the Holy Scriptures,” the President said.

“Nigeria is on a promising path of recovery and development, with clear signs of a brighter future. This season reminds us to renew our hope and belief in a prosperous Nigeria.

“Let us also offer our support and prayers to our leaders, as this will enable us to serve the nation better and work toward collective prosperity.”

Tinubu highlighted the essence of Christmas as a celebration of divine prophecy fulfilled and a symbol of love, peace, and unity. He said it serves as a reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest times, bringing hope and comfort to all.

Condolences for Stampede Victims

The President expressed his sympathies to the families of victims who lost their lives in recent stampedes in Abuja, Ibadan, and Anambra State.

He described the incidents as tragic and prayed that such occurrences would never happen again.

“Recent tragic events in Oyo, Okija, and Abuja have deeply saddened us, and our hearts go out to those affected by these painful incidents,” Tinubu said.

“We pray that such misfortunes never return to our families and communities and that the lives of innocent people are no longer cut short.

“I also offer my deepest condolences to families who have suffered loss this year due to floods, fires, or other accidents. May you find comfort in your faith, the support of loved ones, and the enduring presence of Jesus Christ. Our compassionate God stands with the weak, the grieving, and the sick.”
