Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi has suffered another injury blow after the Nigerian was stretchered out in the 31st minute during FC Porto’s home victory against Estrela on Saturday.
Portuguese giant FC Porto will miss Zaidu during the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League slated for this week.
It is his first game for Porto since returning from the AFCON where he represented Nigeria. He was a key player for the Super Eagles, playing every game except for one where he didn’t make the match day squad.
It could be an ending season for the 27-year-old following the suspected ACL injury.
His injury was confirmed by his club, who asserted the below on their website:
“In the 29th minute, in a run by André Luiz down the central corridor, Zaidu gains ground on the opponent, and it is he who manages to intercept the shot; however, he comes out very complaining, with problems in his left knee “
