Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has called for a united effort to address the security crisis in Zamfara State, emphasizing the need to prioritize the well-being of its people over political grievances.
In a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Senator Sani highlighted the pressing issues facing Zamfara, including rampant banditry, bloodshed, and abductions. He pointed out that if Zamfara were given a ministerial portfolio related to culture, its citizens would still accuse the government of insensitivity to their plight.
The Senator urged residents of Zamfara to come together to confront these challenges collectively. He emphasized that amidst the turmoil, removing Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle from his position should not be the primary focus.
The call comes amidst escalating tensions in Zamfara, where insecurity has reached alarming levels, with frequent attacks by bandits causing widespread fear and displacement among residents.
