Nigeria is in mourning following the death of Ambassador Ahmed Algazali, OON, who passed away at the age of 84.Â
His notable career included leadership roles in the Federal Civil Service Commission and diplomatic missions in Iran and Saudi Arabia, as well as serving as the permanent secretary and head of service of the Borno State Civil Service.
Ambassador Algazali came from a distinguished family known for its contributions to academia and law, being the eldest son of revered judge Khadi Shettima Alkali Gazali.
He is remembered alongside his late brother, Professor Muhammad Nur Alkali, former Vice-Chancellor and presidential advisor, and other prominent legal figures.
His burial will take place today at 4:30 PM at the Gazali Family Masjid in Fezzan Ward, Maiduguri, following Islamic rites. The family requests prayers for the deceased.
