MTNN becomes the first African brand to bag the ‘International Airship Altitude’ award

The Mobile Leaders Forum in London recently presented the Airship Altitude Awards, with MTN Nigeria emerging as the winner. The company’s free mobile app, “myMTN NG,” which aims to make users’ mobile experiences easier, took home the award.

Airship, which is recognized as the world’s top mobile engagement platform for business brands, honours companies that provide customized and successful in-app experiences. Every year, customers of Airship from all over the world submit their best cross-channel campaigns, mobile strategies, and app experiences for evaluation in the Altitude Awards. Judges evaluate each application based on predetermined standards, which include overall contribution to the mobile ecosystem, performance, amplification, innovation, and ease of use.

Twelve businesses from different continents were nominated to compete in this year’s event. Warner Media, Orange, Regiocast, and other companies were among the nominees.

MTN took home the prize in the “Acquisition Category,” which honours companies that use outstanding acquisition tactics to increase app downloads. The business was honoured to be the first African brand to win the prize.

Chief Customer Relations Officer of MTN Nigeria, Ugonwa Nwoye, commented on the honour, saying, “MTN Nigeria is incredibly honoured to have won the Airship Altitude Award, which demonstrates our commitment to provide creative and customer-focused solutions. The acknowledgement of our mobile application, “myMTN NG,” demonstrates our dedication to streamlining our subscribers’ mobile experience.”

MTN Nigeria is pleased to announce that it has received several reputable recognitions recently, including the Africa-America Institute’s 2023 Corporate Responsibility Award, the SABRE Award for its recognition in public relations and communications, the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) award as the most compliant listed company, and others.

The Airship Awards celebrate brands that excel in delivering personalised and effective in-app experiences, and we’re proud to be acknowledged. Our acquisition strategies have a significant impact on driving app downloads and enhancing the overall mobile ecosystem.
