Minister announces Nigeria’s intention to establish a lithium battery factory

—

The government wants to make batteries in Nigeria. Right now, Nigeria buys batteries from other countries.

They use a material called lithium to make batteries. The government wants to stop other countries from taking Nigeria’s lithium, making batteries elsewhere, and then selling them back to Nigeria.

So, they plan to build a factory in Nigeria to make lithium batteries. They also want to make a factory to process lithium and reuse old batteries. This will help Nigeria make its own batteries and create jobs.

The Science and Technology Minister, Uche Nnaji, talked about this plan during a visit to a technology center in Lagos.

He said they are training people to become industrialists and start their own businesses. The government hopes this will make more people successful.

The Minister also mentioned President Bola Tinubu’s plan to make Nigeria better. He said the government wants to help experts and people who are good at technology. They will give them money to do research and make new things.

The Director-General of a technology center in Lagos said they are helping young people with ideas become successful. She said technology can help solve big problems like climate change and health issues.

The government is also thinking about making Abuja a big technology city like Silicon Valley. They hope this will bring more jobs and opportunities to Nigeria.
