Fuel: Dangote Not Your “Father Christmas” -Shehu Sani Warns Nigerians

—

Former Senator Shehu Sani has cautioned Nigerians against expecting billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote to provide cheap fuel as a form of charity.

In a statement, Sani emphasized that Dangote is a businessman, not a philanthropist, and his primary goal is to make a profit.

Sani’s warning comes as Nigerians eagerly await the resolution around the brouhaha of his refinery, hoping it will lead to lower fuel prices. Sani advised against relying on Dangote’s benevolence, stating, “Don’t expect him to be your ‘Father Christmas’ for petrol.”

The former senator also highlighted the crucial role of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in ensuring the stability and future of Nigeria’s energy sector. He stressed that NNPCL “still holds the ace” in this regard.

He urged citizens to be cautious and not wait for “manna from Aliko,” emphasizing that Dangote’s primary focus is on his business interests, not social services or fuel charity.
