CAF Awards: Ademola Lookman and Chiamaka Nnadozie Among Final Nominees

Nigerian stars Ademola Lookman and Chiamaka Nnadozie have been named among the final nominees for the 2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year Awards in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.

Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Super Falcons and Paris FC goalkeeper, will compete for the Women’s Player of the Year award against Morocco’s Sanaa Massoundy and Zambia’s Barbara Banda. In addition to this nomination, she has also been shortlisted for the Best Goalkeeper of the Year award, where she faces two other top contenders from across Africa.

In the Men’s Player of the Year category, Atalanta and Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is up against Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund), Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra (Brighton & Hove Albion), and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns).

Both Nigeria’s men’s and women’s national teams have also been shortlisted for the Team of the Year award and will compete with other nations for the prestigious title.

Also, Chiamaka Okechukwu is in contention for the Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

The grand finale of the CAF Awards is set to take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Marrakesh, Morocco.
