Former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has said that his successor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has performed impressively well given the prevailing economic realities he met since assumption of office in May 2023.
 Â
Buhari made this known on Sunday, March 10, when he received the comptroller-general and members of the management team of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) in Daura, Katsina state.
The former president who revealed that governing Nigeria is a tough job for anyone, also appealed to Nigerians to endure the economic hardship in the country and support the policies and programmes of the current administration.
He maintained further, “I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu has done very well. Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn’t much anybody can do.”Â
President Bola Tinubu has come under heavy criticisms by most Nigerians following the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate which have caused galloping inflation and heightened economic hardship across the country.
