Reports have it that armed bandits have wrecked havoc on LEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted dozens of pupils in the early hours of Thursday, 7th March 2024.
As of the time of filing this report, the number of persons abducted was yet to be ascertained.
However, residents revealed that those whisked away during the attack were numbering about a hundred.
Media sources say the school relocated to Kuriga town a few years ago following insecurity concerns, abandoning their former site located a distance away from the town.
According to a resident of the community, simply identified as Shitu, who confirmed the incident, revealed that when the armed bandits were sighted storming the school premises, most of the pupils ran out of their classes, scampering for safety.
Also confirming the incident, another resident, Lawal Kuriga, disclosed that the abducted victims were marched into the forest.
As of press time, neither the Kaduna state government nor the police have reacted to this development.
