Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has equaled Luis Aragonés as the all-time leading goalscorer after scoring against Getafe last night.Â
Antoine Griezmann’s brace, which were goals scored in the first and second halves respectively during their 3-3 draw last night against Getafe, helped him tie a record for the most goals (173) with Luis Aragonés who was formerly the record holder until last night.
Antoine Griezmann reached this landmark, scoring in the 364 games he has played between his two periods as a Red & White player, from 2014 to 2019 and from 2021 to the present.
The man who until now had been his closest challenger in the ranking of top scorers has managed to reach that figure of 173, scoring 123 goals in the league, 31 in the Champions League, 13 in the Copa del Rey, and 6 in the Europa League.
This season the French forward has netted 11 times in La Liga, meaning only Jude Bellingham (14) and Borja Mayoral have scored more league goals than Griezmann.
