Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi completed his move from Everton to Fulham on the last hours of the deadline day of the summer transfer. Fulham in their unveiling asserted that the Nigerian has put pen to paper until 2028.
“The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Alex Iwobi from Everton for an undisclosed fee. Iwobi has agreed a contract until the summer of 2028.”
The Lagos born began his professional career at Arsenal following his debut under Arsene Wenger in 2015 through to 2019. He joined Everton the same year before Fulham acquired his service on the last day of the 2023-24 summer transfer window.
At Arsenal, he made 149 appearances, adding 40 goals involvement. He was a two time winner of the Community Shield and a FA Cup at the club. Before leaving Everton, Iwobi was capped 140 time with 25 goals contribution for the Toffees.
The nephew of Nigerian icon Jay-Jay Okocha, Iwobi made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2015, and featured in all three of their matches at the 2018 World Cup.
He now has 63 caps for his national side and has scored 10 goals in that time.
Speaking to FFCtv, the 27-year-old said: “I’m buzzing, I just can’t wait to get started, I’m excited to start my journey here.
“Marco Silva spoke to me about long-termtions of the Club, and I’m on board. Hopefully I can bring something to the Club.”
