18 Arrests and Still Standing!- Speed Darlington Speaks Out After Arrest

Controversial Nigerian singer and content creator, Speed Darlington, recently shared his experience after being arrested and detained for defamation, claiming he was treated unfairly by the police.

In a viral clip circulating on October 17, 2024, Darlington didn’t hold back, describing what he went through while in custody.

“The police violated my civil and human rights. They didn’t let me speak to my family or my lawyer. I was supposed to be detained for only two days, but they held me for four without letting me contact anyone,” he said.

Despite this, Darlington insists he’s unfazed by the ordeal, stating, “It might look like I’ve been off social media, but what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. I’ve been arrested 17 times in the U.S., and now this makes it 18. Nothing mega. I’ve hit rock bottom before, and if you don’t know anyone, you’re done for.”

The drama began when an SOS was posted on Darlington’s Instagram on October 7, 2024, saying he had been missing for three days, sparking concerns online.

It turns out, his arrest stemmed from a video he posted accusing Nigerian superstar Burna Boy of having ties with American rapper Diddy, who was recently charged with serious crimes, including sex trafficking. The video went viral, leading to Darlington’s arrest and fueling a massive online conversation.

In a surprising twist, Darlington’s mother made a heartfelt plea in another video, asking Burna Boy to forgive her son and release him. After being tracked down to an Abuja holding center, Speed Darlington was finally freed.

It’s clear this incident has only added to his controversial reputation, but as he said, it’s just another chapter in his already wild story.
