Zulum proposes subsidized gasoline for farmers to enhance agricultural output

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has shared plans to help farmers in Damasak by providing petrol at lower prices.

This is to help them grow more food and make farming easier. Many farmers in Damasak are still recovering from a long period of fighting in the area.

Zulum talked about this plan on Tuesday when he talked to reporters after giving out aid to women and widows who need help.

He said, “Farmers in this area mostly use generators that need petrol to run. I want to help them with this problem.”

Zulum explained that the government will choose two petrol stations and give them petrol at lower prices.

This will help farmers buy petrol for their machines at cheaper rates, which will help them grow more crops.

He also talked about helping people who recently came back from Niger Republic because of the fighting. He promised to make sure they have what they need to live.

Zulum also said the government will give out solar-powered water pumps, seeds, fertilizers, and other things farmers need to grow crops.

He added, “We will also get solar water pumps and put in drip and sprinkler systems to help farmers use water more efficiently.”

Damasak is an important place for farming in northern Borno. It was under the control of fighters before the Nigerian army took it back. Since then, the government has been helping people rebuild and start farming again.
