Super Eagles player and vice-captain, Troost Ekong, has penned an emotional farewell message to PAOK and the entire team after securing a move to the Saudi Arabian side Al-Kholood Club following a one-year stint with the Greek club.
Troost, 30, joined PAOK from Watford, where he won the Super League Cup before his Saudi transfer. He made two Champions League qualification appearances for the club this season and had 24 appearances overall, contributing two goals.
The center-back thanked all the staff members of the team, wishing them good luck as he departed for greener pastures.
Aside from Watford in England, he has played for Salernitana on loan, Udinese, Gent, and a few other clubs, with a total of 270 club appearances and 11 goal contributions.
He was one of the best players in the January AFCON, leading Nigeria to the final in which he scored, but the team lost to the host nation.
He has been capped 71 times by the Super Eagles of Nigeria since his senior debut in 2015. He holds the record as the highest-scoring defender (5) in the history of AFCON.
