Suspected Bandits Abducts Female Lawyer from Sokoto Residence

In the early hours of Sunday, a female lawyer named Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa was abducted from her home in the Bado area of Sokoto by suspected bandits.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m., according to Barrister Fadinand Okotete, a Notary Public and Principal Partner at the law firm where Mrs. Mustafa works.
Okotete recounted the harrowing event to journalists, explaining that the bandits stormed Rukayyat’s house, taking her and a young man captive.
They were forced to walk a distance to a vehicle parked far from the residence. Upon reaching the vehicle, the kidnappers threatened the young man, telling him to leave or be shot. Fearing for his life, the man quickly returned to the house.
The incident has been reported to the police, who are working on a rescue operation for the kidnapped lawyer.
Khalid Mustafa, Rukayyat’s younger brother, confirmed Okotete’s account and mentioned that the young man was too traumatized to provide complete details of the incident.
Khalid also stated that the police have requested the family to check back later in the day for updates on the investigation and any progress made towards rescuing Rukayyat.
