Sony Pictures has officially announced that Spider-Man 4 will swing into theaters on July 24, 2026.
Tom Holland is back in the iconic red and blue suit, with Zendaya reprising her role as MJ.
The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, celebrated for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
This new release date sets up a huge summer for Marvel, as it lands just two months after Avengers: Doomsday.
It’s a bold move similar to 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, which premiered shortly after Avengers: Endgame and served as a kind of “epilogue” for the Avengers saga.
For Holland, who’s also starring in Christopher Nolan’s next film—set to release that same month—2026 will be a packed year.
As for the story? Little has been revealed, but Spider-Man 4 is expected to pick up after the events of No Way Home, where Peter’s identity was wiped from the public’s memory.
Holland recently shared a hint of his excitement after reading the initial draft, saying it “lit a fire” under him. “I read the script with Zendaya, and I can tell you, there’s something special here.”
Another thrilling connection? Doctor Doom. With persistent rumors about Doom’s MCU introduction, some speculate that Peter could find himself fighting with this new villain, especially considering his past connection to Tony Stark.
Sony’s timely announcement on the same day Venom: The Last Dance hit theaters is fueling rumors of a crossover between Spider-Man and Sony’s Venom universe.
“We’re looking at something truly unique here,” teased Cretton.
Production is expected to kick off in summer 2025, so keep an eye out for more updates as Marvel and Sony continue to reveal what’s next for their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
