Rejig Cabinet, Reassign Members for Greater Efficiency, SDG Ambassador, Nwachukwu tells Gov Nwifuru

—

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has been urged to rejig and reassess the current composition of his advisory and executive team, and hold a retreat for his appointees to ensure that each member is aligned with his vision for the state.

A Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ambassador and the Founder, Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement (EBAM), Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu, who gave the advice during an exclusive interview with TNC correspondent in Abakaliki, also urged the governor to host an Economic and Investment Summit to attract investors to the state.

The SDGs Ambassador noted that Ebonyi State is endowed with vast natural resources and human capital that can be harnessed to drive rapid economic growth and development if the right policies and strategies are implemented.

He emphasized that evaluating the cabinet will enable the governor to assess the performance of members so far and make necessary adjustments to ensure they are aligned with his vision.

“Governor Nwifuru needs to regroup his cabinet and hold a retreat for all his appointees, including commissioners, special advisers, and other political office holders. This will provide an opportunity for them to understand his vision, goals, and priorities for the state.

“It will also enable them to align their individual and collective efforts towards achieving those objectives, thereby fostering camaraderie and a unified sense of purpose, ensuring that all members are on the same page and working towards a common goal,” Nwachukwu posited.

He noted that a thorough realignment of the cabinet may involve the introduction of new faces with fresh ideas or empowering existing members with additional responsibilities that better suit their skills so as to bolster the effectiveness of the state administration and also rejuvenate public confidence in governance.

Speaking on the need for an economic summit, to attract investors and stimulate economic growth in the State, Ambassador Nwachukwu advised that the summit should be well-structured to showcase the investment opportunities in the state, provide a platform for investors to network with policymakers and other stakeholders, and facilitate the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements.

“The economic summit should be a flagship project of Governor Nwifuru’s administration. It should feature presentations on the state’s investment potential, panel discussions, exhibitions, and business-to-business meetings.

“It is an opportunity for the state to promote its economic development agenda and showcase its competitiveness,” Ambassador Nwachukwu emphasized.

The SDGs Ambassador commended Governor Nwifuru for his commitment to the development of Ebonyi State and his willingness to engage with stakeholders to achieve his goals.

He expressed confidence that if the governor implements the right policies and strategies, Ebonyi State will experience rapid transformation and become a model for sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
