Petroleum task force closes fuel station in Jigawa

—

The Petroleum Products Task Force in Jigawa State took decisive action in Dutse metropolis by closing down the IMG filling station, citing allegations of customers being shortchanged.

Colonel Muhammad Alhassan (retired), the chairman of the task force, revealed this information during a thorough inspection carried out by the team.

This task force, assembled under the direction of Governor Umar Namadi, has been tasked with overseeing the operations of filling stations, particularly in challenging times.

Col. Alhassan emphasized that their primary objective is to monitor and regulate activities in the petroleum sector.

During their recent visit, the committee made the decision to shut down the IMG filling station based on reports of customers being deprived of 1.5 liters for every 10 liters purchased.

This underscores the committee’s commitment to upholding consumer rights and ensuring fair practices within the petroleum industry.

Col. Alhassan conveyed the committee’s dedication to safeguarding the interests of customers and emphasized the importance of building trust in the community.

He urged business owners to adhere to ethical standards, invoking a sense of responsibility by reminding them to fear Almighty Allah.

the chairman stressed the need for businesses to uphold integrity and sanitize their operations, fostering an environment where customers can confidently engage with them.

This proactive approach by the Petroleum Products Task Force aims to instill transparency and accountability in the petroleum sector for the benefit of the consumers in Jigawa State.

During the month of December, Nigerians encounter difficulties when trying to obtain petroleum.

At times, the cost of a liter of petrol can escalate to 1000 Naira, leading to significant hardships for the general population.

As Nigerians navigate these challenges, there is a collective hope and prayer to avoid the prolonged queues that typically form at filling stations nationwide during this period.

The sight of long lines at gas stations has become a concern, adding to the overall struggles faced by the people.
