The National Universities Commission (NUC) has released the results of the October/November 2024 accreditation exercise for academic programmes at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), confirming the institution’s steady progress in academic quality and standards.
In a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, and signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, the Commission announced full accreditation for several postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
Programmes in the Faculty of Administration, including M.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. Public Sector Accounting, Master of Public Sector Accounting, M.Sc. Public Administration, and Master of Public Administration were all accredited.
In the Faculty of Education, the following programmes attained full accreditation: B.Sc. (Ed) Biology, B.Sc. (Ed) Chemistry, B.Sc. (Ed) Geography, B. (Ed) Educational Management, and B.Sc. (Ed) Integrated Science.
Also securing full accreditation was the B.Sc. Urban and Regional Planning programme in the Faculty of Environmental Science.
The Faculty of Law’s LL.B Common and Islamic Law programme received full accreditation, alongside B.Sc. Zoology and B.Sc. Computer Science in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences. In the Faculty of Social Sciences, B.Sc. Political Science also achieved full accreditation status.
The NUC stated that both “Accredited” and “Full Accreditation” statuses are valid for five (5) years.
Reacting to the results, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to staff and stakeholders for their dedication to quality teaching, research, and service delivery.
