Legendary music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, known as the “Elegant Stallion,” will be laid to rest on Friday, August 30th (today) in Lagos.
The renowned actress and journalist died on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, after collapsing at an event honoring Dr Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
The funeral service for the 72-years-old as announced by the family, will take place at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
According to a funeral flyer, the Service of Songs is scheduled for 10 -12 noon while the burial, 2-4pm.
Onyeka Onwenu was not only a celebrated musician with a good hmuber of hits but also a broadcaster, actress, politician, and activist. Until her death, the entertainment figure was survived by her two sons.
