NARTO Calls Off Planned Nationwide Strike

—

According to reports, the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, has suspended its planned nationwide strike said to have commenced Monday 19 February.

This is coming after a meeting with the Union and the Federal Government as well as other stakeholders on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Recall that NARTO had earlier released a strike notice over the hike in running cost which is affecting the movement of the product across the country, after the price of diesel hit N1,226.69 per liter last week.

It was gathered that the association’s members had threatened a nation-wide strike beginning Monday 19 February due to the escalating cost of automotive gas oil (diesel), which is essential for fueling their trucks in transporting petroleum products nation wide.
