The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting civil authorities by completing a crucial airlift mission on Wednesday Night, October 16, 2024.Â
The mission involved delivering essential relief materials to flood victims in Borno State, as part of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
The relief supplies were transported by the NAF’s C-130 Hercules aircraft from Abuja to Maiduguri.
The relief items, donated under the initiative, included food supplies, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, offering both sustenance and comfort to the affected communities.
Senior NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, received the supplies, which were subsequently handed over to the Borno State Government for distribution to those in need.
In addition to the airlift, the NAF launched a medical outreach program and provided food for over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) during the crisis.
This collaborative effort between the First Lady’s office and the NAF underscores the importance of joint initiatives in addressing humanitarian emergencies, particularly in regions heavily impacted by natural disasters like the recent floods in Borno State.
