Manchester City has triumphed over West Ham to defend the English Premier League title, doing so for the fourth time in a row.
This is the first time an English club has reached this mark.
This didn’t go well with Arsenal, who, despite their resilience against Everton, were still two points adrift of the champions.
In the first half of the two most important games this afternoon at the Etihad Stadium and the Emirates Stadium, Manchester City dominated their visitors, scoring two goals 18 minutes into the game, thanks to Foden’s brace.
Unfortunately, the Citizens conceded late to end the first half 2-1, boosting Arsenal’s hopes.
In the second half, Rodrigo’s strike extended City’s lead to 3-1, a scoreline enough to secure the title again.
At the Emirates, Arsenal were down after a shocking strike from Idrissa Gueye. Three minutes later, Takehiro Tomiyasu equalized, making it 1-1 at the end of the first 45 minutes.
Nothing separate both side as Everton denied Gunners a three point on the last day. It’s now 20 years since Arsenal have lay their hands on the title
Liverpool and Aston Villa have already secured their top four spots. Manchester United and Tottenham joined them, qualifying for the European second tier, while Chelsea will be playing in the UEFA Conference League.
All the promoted teams (Luton Town, Sheffield United, and Burnley) from last season returned to the Championship after finishing at the bottom of the league table.
