Los Angeles FC Unveils French Forward Olivier Giroud

United States Football Club, Los Angeles FC, has unveiled the acquisition of French striker Olivier Giroud, who has signed a one-year contract with the club with an option through 2026.

Before now, Giroud has enjoyed an illustrious career with top European clubs, playing in Italy, England, and France: Montpellier, Arsenal, Chelsea, and AC Milan for 18 years.

In his 716 appearances, Giroud has won 11 major trophies and scored 285 goals plus 97 assists.

After making his senior debut with the French National team in 2011, Giroud’s 137 caps are ranked third all-time in French history.

Known as the all-time leading scorer for the French National Team, with 57 goals for his country, he has won the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Nations League trophy, while also reaching the Final of the 2016 UEFA European Championship and the 2022 World Cup.

“It is an incredibly exciting day for all associated with LAFC to welcome Olivier, his wife Jennifer, and his family to the club,” LAFC Co-President General Manager John Thorrington said.

Olivier has a clear hunger to win, which he has done consistently throughout his club and international career. His championship ambition and his qualities as a man and as a player directly align with ours as a club; therefore, we believe Olivier will be a great addition as we continue in our pursuit of more trophies.

“I am delighted and excited to join LAFC,” Giroud said. “I can’t wait to get to Los Angeles and to play in front of the 3252 and all the incredible fans.”
