The All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano state have suffered yet another loss as the Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area of the State, Abdullahi Garba Ramat, announced his resignation from office with indications of dumping the party.
In a post on his Facebook page, Ramat who was voted into office in March 2021 under the platform of the APC, served in that capacity till Monday February 5 when he handed over to his Deputy.
“Alhamdullah, today I have handed over the affairs of Ungogo Local Government Area to my Deputy. I have done my best in areas of proving hundreds of infrastructural development projects and have received many accolades and wards including the best local government chairman awarded to me by the State Assembly.” He noted.
He handed over during a brief ceremony where he flagged off empowerment for 500 women and also launched the council’s official logo.
This development is coming days before the expiration of the tenure of local government chairmen in the state.
Meantime, the Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano, Auwalu Lawan Shaaibu, popularly referred to as Aranposu, has dumped the APC for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Media reports have it that the chairman who has been a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) disclosed this on his Facebook page in the early hours of Tuesday 6 February.
“I have returned back to my home… And His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf is the man of the people (the less privileged) and loves Kano. We should pray for him.” He stated.
Meanwhile, the decampee’s photos with the Governor were first seen on social media posted by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media, Salisu Yahaya Hotoro.
