Leicester City has announced the sacking of first-team manager Steve Cooper following the club’s defeat to Chelsea yesterday at the King Power Stadium, where the Blues earned the decisive three points.Â
“Leicester City Football Club has parted company with Steve Cooper, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.”
According to the club, Cooper’s assistant manager and Analyst have will also depart the club while expressing their appreciation to the trio:
“Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future.”
While the search for a new coach resumes, the club stated that the first men team will be spearheaded by Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes:
“Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible.”
Leicester City sits at the 16th position on the Premier League log with just a point above a relegation threatened team after twelve league games.
