Katsina State Governor Subsidises 400,000 Bags of Fertilisers for Farmers

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, of Katsina State, has initiated the distribution of 400,000 bags of fertilizer, at discounted rates, to local farmers in anticipation of this year’s agricultural season.
The official launch event took place at the Katsina Government House on Monday, where Governor Radda disclosed that the total value of the fertilizer amounts to over N20 billion.
This substantial procurement was made possible through a collaborative effort between the state government and the 34 local government areas (LGAs) within the state.
In addition to the fertilizer distribution, the governor personally supervised the allocation of motorcycles and knapsack sprayers to 772 local government staff members who were designated as extension agents.
These personnel play a crucial role in extending agricultural services and expertise to rural communities.

He emphasized the importance of collective action in forging a prosperous and sustainable future for agriculture in Katsina.
Calling for unity and cooperation, Governor Radda expressed confidence that any obstacles could be overcome through concerted efforts and support from all stakeholders.
He urged everyone to renew their dedication to the shared goal of nurturing a thriving agricultural sector that benefits every resident of the state.
“As we celebrate today’s successes, let us reaffirm our commitment to working together towards the common goal of building a prosperous and sustainable agricultural future for our dear state.”
In his closing remarks, Governor Radda expressed gratitude for the ongoing support and collaboration and voiced optimism about achieving their collective vision of agricultural prosperity in Katsina State.
