Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has announced on his social media that he will be sidelined for a few weeks after picking up a muscle injury during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
Maguire was substituted before halftime at Villa Park and had to be assisted off the pitch by medical staff. He was unable to return for the second half and was replaced by Matthijs De Ligt.
Maguire’s updated caption read:
“Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend. It will be a few weeks on the sideline for me, but I’ll come back stronger.”
This now means that only De Ligt, Jonny Evans—who was Man of the Match at Villa Park—Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof are available as center-back options for Erik Ten Hag.
