Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State traveled to Fikayel town, Bayo LGA to commission a newly constructed Jumu’at Mosque, on Friday.
The mosque, a project made possible by the generosity of Alhaji Sa’adu Ali Mai Silifas, a prominent Gombe based businessman, aims to provide a conducive environment for worship and Islamic learning in the local community.

The Jumu’at Mosque, funded entirely by Alhaji Mai Silifas, stands as a testament to his dedication to improving the lives of those in his community.Â
Both Governor Yahaya and Governor Zulum praised the businessman for his selfless contributions, highlighting the role of such philanthropic efforts in fostering social and religious development.
During the ceremony, Governor Yahaya emphasized the importance of community-driven projects like this mosque, which serve to uplift the spiritual lives of the people while also fostering unity and harmony.
He expressed deep gratitude to Alhaji Sa’adu Ali Mai Silifas for using his wealth and influence to improve the well-being of his fellow citizens, noting that these kinds of initiatives set a powerful example for others to follow.
Governor Zulum echoed these sentiments, applauding the businessman’s charitable spirit and commitment to serving his community.
He pointed out that religious and social infrastructure, such as mosques, play a crucial role in the spiritual and moral guidance of society, and by building the mosque, Mai Silifas has made a lasting impact.
The mosque is expected to not only provide a space for worship but also serve as a center for religious education, further enhancing the town’s spiritual life.
The governors urged other wealthy individuals to emulate this act of kindness, contributing to the development and harmony of their respective communities.
