Gombe achieves the highest ranking in Socio-Economic Performance Index

—

The Gombe State Government has been recognized as the top-performing state in Nigeria when it comes to socio-economic performance.

This means that Gombe State has been rated as the best among all the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in terms of how well it is doing economically and socially.

According to a statement from the spokesman of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Gombe State achieved this top position with a PSPI Score of 0.80, earning it an AAA rating, which signifies excellent performance.

This rating was provided by the PCL State Performance Index (PSPI), an independent organization that evaluates the socio-economic performance and risk profiles of Nigerian states.

Gombe State’s impressive performance has been attributed to several factors. It has excelled in various socio-economic parameters, including economic potentials, socioeconomic performance, and risk management.

Despite facing challenges like the Boko Haram Insurgency in the North-East region, Gombe State has managed to stand out as a top-performing state.

One of the key reasons for Gombe State’s success is its efficient utilization of limited resources by the government.

Despite having fewer socio-economic potentials compared to other states, the Gombe State government has been able to drive significant socio-economic progress through strategic investments in infrastructure, alignment with federal initiatives, economic diversification, and agricultural programs.

The report also highlighted the continuity in government as a contributing factor to Gombe State’s high rating.

This indicates that consistent leadership and governance have played a role in the state’s sustained progress.

Overall, Gombe State’s recognition as the best-performing state in Nigeria demonstrates its commitment to improving the lives of its citizens and achieving sustainable development despite challenges.
