Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter (now rebranded as ), has addressed the increasing number of requests to suspend or otherwise impact left-leaning accounts on the platform.Â
The move comes amidst heightened political tensions and debates about free speech ahead of the November presidential election.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Musk emphasized the company’s commitment to free speech.
“We have recently received many requests to suspend or otherwise impact accounts on the left. However, is a free speech platform that aspires to give equal voice to all, within the bounds of the law. That is what we will do,” Musk wrote.
This declaration follows Musk’s recent public endorsement of Donald Trump, Republican Party candidate.
The Tesla CEO has also pledged to contribute $45 million monthly to support Trump’s campaign efforts.
