Delta Vows To Address Wealth, Job Creation Issues

Delta State’s Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, has reaffirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to generating more jobs and wealth for the people of Delta State through his #MOREAgenda.

Speaking with journalists at the State Secretariat in Asaba, Egwunyenga revealed that the Governor has directed the Office of Job and Wealth Creation to focus on youth employment. He also highlighted the 2025 proposed budget, which introduces new strategies in job and wealth creation that are expected to significantly boost the state’s economic growth.

Egwunyenga expressed confidence in the initiative, stating, “The MORE Agenda of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will elevate the state to a new level next year.” He added that the administration would take a comprehensive approach to address job and wealth creation issues, reviewing the current landscape, past achievements, and future goals.

While acknowledging the accomplishments of the previous administration in vocational training and skills acquisition, Egwunyenga emphasized that the current government would expand its focus to market-relevant skills that drive the economy and enable Deltan youth to work remotely.

These trending skills, he noted, would empower the youth to compete both nationally and globally. Egwunyenga also stressed the importance of partnerships to support this initiative and create more opportunities for Delta’s growing youth population.
