Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), has conveyed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of Nigeria’s former President, the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua passed away on Monday evening in Katsina, leaving behind a legacy cherished by many.

In his message of condolence on Tuesday, which he delivered on behalf of the 19 governors representing the northern states, Governor Inuwa Yahaya paid tribute to the late Hajiya Dada, describing her as a rare gem and an extraordinary woman whose influence and legacy have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history.

He praised her for a life well-lived, one that epitomized resilience, wisdom, and a nurturing spirit that significantly impacted those around her.

Governor Yahaya highlighted that Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua was not just the mother of a former president but also the mother of other prominent figures who have played important roles in Nigeria’s governance and development.

Among her children are a former Vice President and a serving senator, alongside other distinguished personalities who have made substantial contributions to the nation.

The governor acknowledged the deep loss that her passing represents not only for her family but also for the entire nation.

He noted that her contributions to Nigeria, through the public service and leadership of her children, are a testament to her remarkable influence and guidance.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed his hope that Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua’s enduring legacy will continue to inspire future generations of Nigerians.

He encouraged them to emulate the dedication and integrity with which her children have served the country.

Extending his heartfelt sympathies to the entire Yar’Adua family, as well as to the government and people of Katsina State, the governor prayed for divine comfort for those mourning her loss.

He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Hajiya Dada eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, the highest level of paradise in Islam, and for her family and loved ones to find the strength to bear this significant loss.

This message of condolence was conveyed through a statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs at Government House, Gombe.
