Bournemouth Confirm Appointment of Tiago Pinto as New President of Football Operations

Premier League football club Bournemouth has confirmed the appointment of former AS Roma manager as its club president of football operations.

“We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Tiago Pinto as our new president of football operations.”

According to the club, Pinto will resume his role next week and will work along with the club’s chief executive Neill Blake and technical director Simon Francis on all football matters.

While with AS Roma for three years, the 39-year-old guided the team to its 2022 UEFA Europa Conference triumph and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League last season.

Hailing from Portugal, Tiago spent nine years with S.L. Benfica and was director of football between 2017 and 2020. During his time there, the Eagles won the league title and featured regularly in the UEFA Champions League.

AFC Bournemouth chairman and owner Bill Foley said: “We’re excited to bring Tiago to the club. Neill and Simon have worked closely with him on a number of deals in recent seasons and have always been very impressed by him.

“Tiago arrives with great experience at some high-profile clubs already in his young career. Hiring somebody with his background reinforces the ambition that we have to succeed in the Premier League and in our multi-club project.”

Tiago told afcb.co.uk: “I’m very happy to be joining AFC Bournemouth during such an exciting time for the club.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Bill, Neill, and Simon. The vision that they have laid out to me is something that I can’t wait to be a part of.

“I look forward to getting to work over the summer as we prepare for the new season.”
