Borno State Police Command Reaffirms Ban on Motorcycles, Electric Bikes

—

The Borno State Police Command has issued a strong reminder to the public regarding the ongoing ban on motorcycles, including electric bikes, within the state.
This ban was originally put in place as a response to the security challenges that have plagued the region.
In a recent press release on Thursday, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the spokesman for the command, emphasized that the prohibition remains firmly in effect.
He warned that anyone found using or possessing either electrical or petrol-powered motorbikes would face arrest and prosecution.
This measure is part of the broader efforts to maintain peace and security in Borno State.
Additionally, the police command has issued a stern warning to filling stations, instructing them not to sell petrol products to motorcyclists. Any filling station found to violate this directive will face severe sanctions and prosecution.
This step is aimed at cutting off fuel supplies that could potentially be used for illegal activities.
Furthermore, delivery and logistics companies operating in the state have been advised to switch to using tricycles, commonly known as Keke Napep, for their operations.
This recommendation is part of the efforts to ensure that business activities can continue smoothly without compromising the security measures in place.
The Borno State Police Command is appealing to the public for their cooperation in adhering to these regulations.
The goal is to foster a sustainable environment of peace and security in the state, which has been severely affected by insurgency and other security issues.
The cooperation of the public is crucial to the success of these measures, and the police are committed to enforcing these rules to safeguard the well-being of all residents.
