The government of Bauchi State has approved the allocation of a significant amount, specifically 120 million naira, with the purpose of obtaining and distributing essential food items to the Christian community residing within the state in commemoration of this year’s Christmas celebrations.Â
This decision reflects the authorities’ commitment to ensuring that the Christian population in Bauchi can partake in the festive season with access to necessary provisions, thereby fostering a sense of inclusivity and support during this joyous occasion.
Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee, conveyed this information during a press briefing held at the Government House in Bauchi.
He elaborated that the committee has already initiated the distribution process of the procured items, encompassing livestock such as cattle and rams, along with bags of rice and vegetable oil, in anticipation of the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
The recipients of these provisions, as outlined by Mr. Abdon Gin, span a diverse range, including the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Christian functionaries within the state government, various Christian groups and individuals, as well as members of military and paramilitary organizations, and even political parties.
Mr. Abdon Gin underscored the collaborative efforts of all twenty local government caretaker committee chairmen in the state, highlighting their commitment to complementing this benevolent gesture in their respective local government areas.
The Chairman of the Committee extended sincere thanks, expressing gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for swiftly distributing the salaries for the month of December.
He highlighted that this timely disbursement is expected to play a crucial role in bringing happiness and relief to the individuals in the community, enhancing the festive season experience for all.
