Armed bandits have killed at least one person in Tursa village, Rabbah Local Government area of Sokoto State. The unfortunate incident which occured in the early hours of Tuesday 19 December 2023, saw six other villagers kidnapped and many cattle rustled by the terrorists.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, disclosed that the incident occured at an ungodly hour on Tuesday 19th December 2023.
He stated that the gunmen stormed the village and set a room ablaze burning down one person. Rufai revealed that the gunmen also abducted six persons while an undisclosed number of cows were also carted away.
He added that two motorcycles were also burnt in the attack.
The police spokesman assured that the Sokoto state commissioner of police has ordered a swift trail on the suspected criminals and that no stone would be left unturned in order to hunt down the terrorists.
