Bandits abduct man and his two wives, set houses ablaze in Katsina

—

On Monday, February 12, in Katsina state, two different groups of bandits attacked two communities. The first attack happened in Goda village, close to the border of Kurfi local government.

The bandits were very violent, causing a lot of destruction. Sadly, one person from the village died in the attack.

Many houses, including the home of Sagir Goda, a member of the community’s vigilante group, were set on fire.

An eyewitness described the attack as terrifying. The bandits came shooting and shouting, creating a scary scene. People ran away to save their lives. The attack left many families without homes.

In another incident, bandits targeted Daudawa neighborhood in Faskari Local Government Area.

They attacked the house of Alhaji Sale, who was a respected person in the community. The bandits took Alhaji Sale, along with his two wives, Amina and Rabi, as well as three cows.

Residents heard gunshots around 1:30 am, and later found out about the attack on Alhaji Sale’s house.

“We heard the gunshots around 1:30 am. When we dared to look outside later, we learnt Alhaji Sale’s house was ransacked and they took him and his two wives, along with three of his cows. We are terrified.

The frequency of these attacks has caused fear among the residents. They are asking the authorities to act quickly to catch the criminals and bring peace back to their communities.
