A Wordless Love Story

In a rowdy silent mall, their eyes meet

With half-masked faces

The town about to hibernate

And distance became medicine

She blushes to the east

He flushes to the west

So apart seemed their paths

Like poles in the north and south

Is the blush a hi

And the flush a shy

Alas, fate had them knit

Bound like meat in a hyena’s teeth

For them

Nature’s strategy was the crocodile’s bait

For in that evening at the station

Love, like an ageless clerk

Which knows no order

Wrote soulmates as seatmates

Nowhere else to turn

Her face on his chest

His palm dressing her hair

Their essence is merged

Their story in its ultimate draft
