Chelsea and Napoli are in discussions about a possible player exchange involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku.
Although Osimhen had agreed to join PSG a few weeks ago, in a deal that didn’t fall through. Now, there is a possibility that the Nigerian striker could head to Chelsea on loan with an option to buy, while Lukaku would join Napoli in a permanent deal.
It is certain that Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer after the club reduced his asking price. Chelsea has shown interest in bringing the African Footballer of the Year to Stamford Bridge, but the club was initially hesitant due to his high asking price.
Osimhen, 25, scored 15 goals for Napoli last season and over 30 goals in the previous season, helping the team win their first Scudetto in 34 years.
If the Lukaku deal progresses, the 31-year-old striker would reunite with Napoli’s new head coach Antonio Conte, with whom he worked for two seasons at Inter Milan.
