University student missing en route to lecture room in Kogi

—

Janet Kyeme, a student in her second year at the Federal University in Lokoja, is missing. She disappeared while on her way to attend classes at the university.

It happened early in the morning on a Friday when she was traveling to the main campus in Felele, Lokoja. It’s not clear if she was kidnapped.

Janet, who studies Library and Information Science (LIS), was last seen taking a motorcycle from her family’s home in the Zango – Army Barracks area of Lokoja.

Her foster father, a pastor in a local church, became worried when she didn’t return home from school that day.

Her foster father and others tried calling her, but her phone was switched off. They even sent her sister to the school to find her, but they couldn’t locate her.

The family is very worried about her safety, as they haven’t heard from her or anyone else about her whereabouts.

The university authorities are working with security agencies and other organizations to find Janet.

They are doing everything they can to locate her. However, they cannot share many details about the situation since it’s a security matter.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, stated that it seems like a case of a missing person at the moment.

Janet’s possible abductors have not contacted her family yet. The police are investigating the matter to find out what happened to her.
