PSG have dismantled Inter Milan to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title in club history on Saturday night.
This historic achievement was marked by another milestone, as they became the first club to secure the biggest winning margin of 5-0 since the inception of the tournament.
It was not a night that Filippo Inzaghi and his players would be proud of, especially after losing the Serie A title, having been distracted by the UEFA Champions League final, which they ultimately lost. Being defeated in such a humiliating manner may haunt them for a long time.
By the 20th minute, PSG had taken the lead with a goal from Achraf Hakimi, who chose not to celebrate after scoring against his former team.
The second goal came from young PSG winger Désiré Doué, who had assisted the first goal.
Doué completed a brace and was subsequently voted Man of the Match. Things never improved for Inter, as PSG continued the rampage and dominated possession.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu both extended PSG’s lead to 5-0 in the second half.
Luis Enrique, who joined the French champions two seasons ago, becomes just the second manager in history after Pep Guardiola, to win a treble, including the UEFA Champions League, with two different clubs.
