Czech tennis player and two-time Grand Slam champion, Petra Kvitova, has disclosed that she is expecting her first child.
The skillful tennis player made this announcement in a post on her social media pages in the early hours of Monday 1st January 2024.
“On the first day of 2024 I wanted to wish you a happy new year and share the exciting news that Jiri and I will be welcoming a baby into our family this summer!”. She wrote.
The 33-year-old Czech tennis star got married to Jiri Vanek, her long-time coach, in a ceremony held in July 2023.
Currently ranked 17th, Kvitova, won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014 respectively.
She was included on the Australian Open entry list when the tournament released it in early December.
There is no assurance if Kvitova’s pregnancy status will change her plans for the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, scheduled to begin January 14th 2024.
