Nigerian Army, along with a special team and local civilian volunteers, worked together to attack and defeat a group of terrorists known as Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). This happened on February 28, 2024, in the Timbuktu area near Lake Chad.Â
The soldiers were able to take control of the terrorists’ base after a tough fight. They found and took possession of a special vehicle designed to resist bombs, a truck with a big gun on top, and a lot of weapons and bullets left behind by the terrorists.
During the attack, the terrorists used bombs hidden in vehicles, mortars, big trucks with guns, and even motorcycles to try to stop the soldiers.
But the soldiers had better weapons and training, so they won the fight. As a result, the terrorists had to run away, leaving behind their weapons and equipment.
The soldiers did a great job and managed to stop three terrorists and seize a special vehicle, a big gun truck, a heavy machine gun, rifles, and homemade guns.
They also found a bomb launcher, many bullets, a machine used for pumping water, lots of ammunition for the heavy machine gun, and some equipment for the rifles. Additionally, they confiscated three motorcycles from the terrorists.
The soldiers are now continuing their mission to chase down the fleeing terrorists.
In another operation, Nigerian Army soldiers went on a patrol to find criminals hiding in Katakpa Village in Nasarawa State.
During this patrol, they managed to kill one criminal and take two rifles, one shotgun, three magazines for the rifles, and many bullets from the criminals.
The Chief of Army Staff, praised the soldiers for their successful missions and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
He told them to stay strong and keep fighting against the terrorists and criminals.
