Traveling without permission incurs punishment — DG warns Corps members

—

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has given a serious warning to corps members.

He said they must get permission from the NYSC before traveling anywhere. He said if they don’t, they will face punishment. He also said that no employer can give them permission to travel.

He talked to NYSC members during their three-week orientation course Nationwide.

He told them that all the services in NYSC are free. He warned them to be careful of people online who might try to trick them with offers of posting or redeployment for money.

General Ahmed reminded the corps members to follow the NYSC dress code properly. He said if they don’t dress well in their NYSC uniform, they will face punishment. He told them to represent NYSC well and follow all the rules.

“Don’t dress anyhow. Dress as good ambassadors of NYSC and always abide by all NYSC rules and regulations.

He told them to respect the culture and traditions of the communities they’ll be living in during their service.

He encouraged them to make a positive impact on their communities and where they’ll be working.

General Ahmed also said that they are still working on making the NYSC Trust Fund bill into a law.

He told the corps members to take part in all the camp activities and make friends before they leave the orientation camp.
