Tinubu to Travel to the Netherlands for an Official Visit Today

President Bola Tinubu is slated to begin an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte extended President Tinubu’s offer to travel to the Netherlands, as was disclosed in a Monday statement posted on the Presidency Nigeria’s official X account.

President Tinubu will meet with Prime Minister Mark Rutte while in the Netherlands and have separate talks with Queen Máxima and His Royal Majesty King Willem-Alexander. The Special Advocate of the UN Secretary-General for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA) is Queen Máxima.

The President will also participate in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which will bring together leaders of corporations and organizations from both nations to discuss prospects for joint ventures and partnerships, particularly in agriculture and water management to develop cutting-edge approaches to sustainable farming methods.

The statement also said, “There will be extensive discussions with Dutch officials on port management operations, for which they have renowned experience.”

The statement also disclosed President Tinubu’s plans to attend the World Economic Forum for two days in Saudi Arabia after he visits the Netherlands.

In 2024, Riyadh will host the World Economic Forum from April 28 to April 29.

A portion of the statement said, “The President will attend a special World Economic Forum (WEF) scheduled for April 28–29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after his engagements in the Netherlands.”

The forum, which will bring together over a thousand executives from business and academia, will focus on global collaboration, growth, and energy for development.

The announcement also disclosed that President Tinubu will use this forum, accompanied by ministers and top officials, to further conversations that support the goals of his government for Nigeria as outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

During these diplomatic trips, President Bola Tinubu will be accompanied by a few ministers and government representatives.
