Rising star Ruger, also known as Michael Adebayo Olayinka, recently spilled the beans on why he waved goodbye to D’Prince’s Jonzing World. And boy, did he have some tales to tell!
Taking to Twitter last Thursday, Ruger didn’t hold back. While he gave props to his former label for giving him his big break, he didn’t shy away from airing his grievances.
According to Ruger, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows over at Jonzing World. Nope, he claimed they were dipping into his pockets to bankroll new talent and pay off other artists. Ouch!
To make matters worse, Ruger revealed that when it came time to talk turkey and renegotiate his contract, Jonzing World wasn’t exactly rolling out the red carpet. They didn’t seem too keen on letting him spread his wings and build his brand the way he wanted.
In a flurry of tweets, Ruger called out the label for leaving him in the dark and shutting him out of important decisions about his own career. Talk about a rough gig!
Ruger’s not afraid to speak his mind, even if it means ruffling a few feathers along the way. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see where this talented singer lands next!

As much as I’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing world introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further as I wanted to be pushed.
Was supposed to renegotiate the contract but I couldn’t imagine 5 years more without action. Dey use my money Dey fund new artiste, leaving me in the dark, not being transparent. I just laugh. How e be now? Many things to to talk but dem fit go wait for me for ikoyi link bridge stab me wotowoto.

Anyways, I’m proud of myself. Performing at very big festivals this year, touring Europe again, touring Canada again, IDC I’m gonna be cocky coz this is shit they couldn’t do for me. BS
